Cheers All,
After waiting what seems an eternity the Summer 2010 edition of BC OUTDOORS has arrived and, within the confines is contained a feature article on Invictus Charters: HIGH SEAS CHINOOK AND COHO. Turned out pretty good and gives all a good indication of the quality of fishing that can be expected with Invictus Charters. It can be read in paper edition or can be read digitally via BC Outdoors.

Cheers All,
The time that many dream about all year has again arrived: The Salmon Are Here!
Invictus Charters has been on 6 fishing charters in the past 7 days and everyone has been into fish. We have had trips where there were as many as 12 salmon to the boat and our last charter produced the biggest fish of the week: 30 lbs. Who says there are no salmon here! The salmon are moving around but we have had some great charters with lots to show including every charter in the past week limiting out on dungeness crabs. What a great way to end a charter!
We have a busy July booked but still have a few spots available. We are also booking our 2 weeks in Ucluelet from July 26th to August 8th and these limited spots are filling up quickly. Book now as last year we turned away multiple requests.

Cheers All,
I am having great difficulty keeping the fishing reports current as I find I enjoy fishing more than writing about past events. I am going to make a more concerted effort to keep on top of this part.
Last night was on the water for the third day in a row and again, lots of fish! Guests limited out on springs and cod then surprised the Captain by suggesting he fish for a couple. Wouldn’t you know the biggest two of the afternoon hit then. End of the day … we were in early with full limits including the Captain.
Fishing, prawning and crabbing is RED hot!

Charter decided he wanted to fish despite the Gale winds so we found a spot off Gabriola and hid out from the waves. Oh…and we picked up two legal springs – biggest was 8 lbs – down 120′. Guest didn’t wish to keep any as only in town for one day so we released both. Kinda nice to see.
Amazing to watch 2 seals follow us for almost 2 hours in that type of water. Usually they don’t chase that much during storms so I was very surprised.
Lots of bait showing and definately lots of fish. Key right now seems to be finding days without too much wind or waves to ensure a good presentation as well as guest comfort.
Back out later this week. Still room for charters and, for those looking for summer action, the good dates are filling up – quickly!

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!
Invictus Charters wishes all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR. The fishing right now is picking up and, when the weather provides an opportunity to fish, there are fish waiting. Also we are finding that the prawning and crabbing has finally regained its full potential and we are again limiting out on most trips. We are thrilled to be able to say we are holding our same rates for the 5th straight year – even if our accountant isn’t thrilled about this decision.
All indications are that fishing may be even better than last year and, if that were to occur, we should be in for an unbeliveable year. Call to arrange either a fishing, combo or simply a boating excursion.

Short charter tonight and wall to wall fish. Had a double header and ended up with 3. Released all as guests had to travel. Fish were over the entire water column and friend next to us had 4 fish. Some big fish coming in including a 44 lbs just north of here. Hold on folks…the best is yet to come!

Cheers All,
Local fishing continues to provide some very nice results. Several fish have come in from Neck Point with lots of bait holding fish in the area. My guests hauled some nice fish in this week including a 20 lbs from 120′ off Gabriola Island near The Gap. Amazing how many fish were showing and how much bait is holding in the area. Several other fish were caught between the Granby and the Waterfall. This morning saw 4 nice fish caught between 6 A.M. and 9 A.M. off Thrasher Rock between 80′ and 120′ on Coyote Cop Car and Purple Haze Spackleback Hootchie. Again the bait is wall to wall in this area which will continue to hold the fish in the area.

Cheers All,
Fishing continues to show lots of large fish holding in local waters. Our guests – from France – caught their largest salmon ever (20 lbs) and had a fun day on the water. They concluded with full limits of large dungeness crabs. We are now 12 charters in a row with full limits of dungeness crabs! We still have a few charters left for the coming week.
